According to the ISPS Code, the Company/ Ship / Port Facility Security Officer plays a key role in the effective implementation of a Security Management System and takes responsibility for verification and monitoring of all Security and pollution prevention activities. To comply with the ISPS Code a shipping company / Port Facility should be able to provide documentary evidence that the PFSO, CSO or SSO has received sufficient training to undertake the necessary duties.
