Oil and Gas Supply Value Chain Management Conference and Exhibition (OGSVC 2021)
Theme: Improving Supply Value Chain in the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Sector of West African Oil and Gas Industry
Date: 24-26 November, 2021
Venue: Online.
The energy sector is divided into different segments, each with their own supply chain issues and challenges. The three sub-sectors include:
- Upstream oil and gas, which includes exploration, extraction and production
- The midstream sector, which involves the transportation (by pipeline, rail, barge, oil tanker or truck), storage and wholesale marketing of crude oil or other petroleum products. Pipeline vandalism, crude oil bunkering, non-functional rails system, oil tankers’ queue and blocking the road, truck accidents, delayed delivery and diversion of crude oil are among various challenges in the midstream.
- The downstream sector, which incorporates petroleum crude oil refining and the processing and purification of raw natural gas, as well as the marketing and distribution of products derived from these source. Below production capacities refineries, selling crude oil abroad and importing refined,
- distributing through trucks, extensive subsidies investments by government due to fluctuations in foreign oil prices, incessant shortage of local supplies are among the challenges in the downstream sector.
Objectives
The conference would:
- Examine the challenges of these sectors in West Africa
- Obtain a detailed understanding of the complete upstream oil and gas supply chain
- Develop strategies to successfully integrate your supply chain activities across the value chain
- Mitigate risk with sophisticated strategy development
- Raise the level of awareness around the oil supply chain among key stakeholders in order to Facilitate positive working relationships and more informed decision making.
- Explore Avenues for improving crude oil production, refining and domestic supply.
Topics
Upstream oil and gas, which includes exploration, extraction and production
The Project Supply Chain – the supply chain associated with building rigs and the necessary supporting infrastructure.
The Inbound Supply Chain – bringing in and staging the materials associated with drilling. These materials include drill casings, drills, water, drilling mud, and lubricants for the rig. In shale oilfields, materials such as water, sand, and fracking chemicals tend to be used in far greater quantities than in conventional fields.
The Outbound Supply Chain – the supply chain associated with taking away the oil and gas produced by the field. Here the challenges center around the fact that as traditional oilfields left production and were not replaced, the necessary logistics infrastructure withered.
The Remote Worker Supply Chain – many of oil sand fields are in extremely remote locations. Consequently, the oilfield workers work for two weeks and then have two weeks off. In some cases, workers are actually flown in by small plane to the site.
- The midstream sector, which involves the transportation (by pipeline, rail, barge, oil tanker or truck), storage and wholesale marketing of crude oil or other petroleum products
- Challenges of Warehousing and Inventory Management
- Transportation of Crude and refined oil: Modes, Methods, Problems and Prospects.
- Pipelines Management: Problems or Prospects
- Challenges of Crude Oil Marketing and Sales
The downstream sector, which incorporates petroleum crude oil refining and the processing and purification of raw natural gas, as well as the marketing and distribution of products derived from these source.
- Oil Refining and Refinery : Opportunities and Challenges
- Oil Process Improvement
- Effective marketing and Distribution in the Oil and Gas Sector
